Heritage

Heritage has always been very close to our heart, no more so than through the wonderful handcrafts that once produced many of todays vintage treasures.

Craftsmanship has always been associated with quality, where original techniques where often handcrafted by small independent artisans whose skills were handed down to each generation that followed.

Today many artisan skills and techniques have not stood up to globalisation and succumbed to mechanised processes of manufacture in large faceless factories on the others side of the world. And it doesn’t take much for the global supply chain to break and access to products abruptly halts.

At Marvelwood we take great pleasure in finding the best examples of their type that are often lost in barns, lofts or fall into a state of disrepair not befitting of their heritage. It’s for their authenticity and rarity that they deserve preserving.

Where we are able it’s our joy to restore these rare classic examples that still retain their originality, and give them a new lease of life, so they can once again retain their purpose in our lives and become cherished by future generations.
